"Fen Edge Exodus"
Sunday, 6th July

Family bike ride along the guided busway from Longstanton
(11.30 for a 12 noon start) to Parkers Piece
to sample the BIG WEEKEND and the Vélo Festival / pre-Tour atmosphere
http://www.cambridgesummerinthecity.co.uk/big-weekend/

As an extra incentive, for each donation of £5 or more we will give you a "maillot jaune" or yellow T-shirt (while stocks last) for just £2.50 on the day (subject to enough for a bulk order). Tell us your size (XS, S, M, L, XL) with your donation message. Donate at least £10 and you can buy up to four for £2.50 each. Please note: Unless you collect, you will only get the maillot jaune if you turn up for the ride on
Sunday, 6th July.

The ride will be gentle. We hope to converge as a yellow peleton (so please wear yellow!). And bring a bike lock!

Here is the route:

We are all meeting at Longstanton Guided Busway carpark at 11.30 (for a start at noon).

There we'll give you a quick safety brief, required by the busway authorities (from whom we have permission for the ride), and your yellow T-shirts. Then it's off to Parkers Piece just 8 miles away, with some road travel unavoidable. We will have marshals at all critical points on the route.

Riders will be responsible for their own return. Children under 14 must be accompanied by a closely related adult over 18. Make sure you're bike's nuts are tight, the tyres are pumped up - you know the drill!! Take a drink (non-alcoholic!). Finally, no speeding! It has taken several months to get permission for this event and we must avoid accidents at all costs.

We have been kindly sponsored by Cambridgeshire County Council, the ride is registered with the CTC (insurance) and is an official part of the Vélo Festival.

See you there,
